Login PIN not working after Windows 10 Upgrade to Fall Creators version 1709

We’ve recently fixed some problems with PIN and picture password login that existed before Build 10041. However, your PIN will only start working automatically if the PIN was created after the fix was implemented.

While we’re working on a more convenient way to resolve this problem, we wanted to provide a workaround for anyone who created a PIN on an earlier build and is still experiencing an issue.

To repair your PIN & picture password:
  1. Open File Explorer and browse to this location:
C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\NGC
  1. Delete everything within that folder
  2. Go to Settings-> Accounts->Sign-in Options
  3. Click Add a PIN again and set your PIN.
  4. PIN sign-in should work going forward

Concerning this issue, some of the users also reported the problem with facial login, which is due to the fact older version of the Windows 10 hello feature was working all okay with Realtek IR cameras, and now it is only looking forward to Intel RealSense Cameras.

We are checking more about the new issue, and hopefully, shortly, we may come up with some fix to it.

    1. Check if below commands shows Product key:
      "wmic path softwarelicensingservice get OA3xOriginalProductKey"

      If yes then try activating Windows using command
      "SLUI 4" in run Box and activate.

      If you want to try Powershell to get product key you can try below:

      powershell "(Get-WmiObject -query ‘select * from SoftwareLicensingService’).OA3xOriginalProductKey"
