Qualcomm Atheros WiFi intermittent connectivity after Win 10 updates. |Fixed|

For a couple of weeks, I have observed this issue that after creators update Qualcomm Wifi adaptor, especially 1707, it is not working correctly.

This all starts to appear after windows 10 creator's update, as you can see in our previous post we have successfully resolved Audio issue of creator update, 100% disk usage issue of Windows 10 no matter which version it was, wifi network is again part of the same series of problems which occurred after creator update.

System Restore and Reset is making it work, but just for the time being as Windows 10 has its own mind of installing updates, which is making PC device manufacturers go crazy.

We tried to uninstall and reinstall the drivers, tried 3 different versions of drivers still not working.

Then we tried resetting the PC to factory settings and fixed the problem.

BUT within two hours, Windows got updated, and we started facing the problem again.

We identified that the issue is somewhere with Windows creators update 1703 and later.

Steps to fix it :
1) Run Command with admin rights.
2) Type in the below commands.

  • Netsh WLAN stop hostednetwork
  • Netsh WLAN set hostednetwork mode=disallow
3) Restart the system and check.

Just in case you want to start it again if it does not fix the problem then follow below:

  • Netsh WLAN set hostednetwork mode=allow
  • Netsh WLAN start hostednetwork

4) Press Win+R key and open Run box, type in appwiz.cpl. You will be able to list of software packages installed on the system search for something which says Smart Byte tries to uninstall and check.

5) Again on the same programs and features screen, lookout if you have multiple antiviruses installed on the computer.

6) Go to the device manager (Right-click on the start button and select it) check underneath the network adaptor. You must be having Bluetooth options as well. Try disabling them and now check.

7) Try to put the drivers back to random older versions:

1. Qualcomm/Atheros/Dell Wireless Drivers Version WHQL this is for Win7 to 8.1. You may lIke to try.

2. Try this link you may find one which will work for you click here.

3. Check more details about this Wifi Adaptor HW Click here.

4. Try this as well Click here.

Check this community forum more info Click here & Click here.

Right now, we found it working in some we will keep trying and will get it through. We are still figuring permanent fix...

New steps:

1) Control Panel -> Power Options -> Change Plan settings -> Change advanced power settings -> Wireless adapter settings -> Power Saving mode.  Make sure it is set to Maximum Power

2)  Turn off IPV6. Then power recycles your router.

  • Note: The above steps are equally helpful when the customer reports "Connected Secured with no internet connectivity."
